Another Great Flow Drill

1)This gets them skating with their heads looking up.(Everyone knows kids will do anything to get a puck. So if they don't look at what's going on, they will miss the pass and must go to the back of the line.)

2)Because this is a fast pace drill, there is no time to have sissy passing by the defensemen. They are forced also to keep their heads up and pass with a hard sweep to either forward or defense.

3)As the drill progress's into two lines at once (optional) the need for concentration increase's.

4)I have found this to have immediate results in break-outs, as well building confidence in the defensemen that it's OK to pass to his/her partner to get the puck moving on the other side of the ice.

Optional Once they get how the drill works, then get two lines going at the same time. Make sure both lines go at the same time, I've found that once they reach the blue line for a shot on net; the next line goes.

*** It's fast
**** It's got full ice attention
*** Every age group should attempt it ***
*** Great warm-up routine ***

Drill
Forward pass's to the defence and then skates around the center circle to intercept the puck from the other defensemen. When the forward pass's the puck to the first defensemen, that defense must pass it to the other defensemen with a fast sweep. The receiving defensemen then pass's it on the stick of the forward coming around the center circle. The forward quickly pass's the puck to the opposite defense, and does the same routine. But this time after he/she recieves the pass, they must proced down the center and shoot on net. The next player then takes his/her turn. Thanks to brad
