Drive Drill progressions and attack triangulation



* have all players do the first progression - players drive the pylon and shoot off the pylon-after shooting player receives a pass from the coach and drives the net a the other end - this time he drags the puck across the middle

* progression - have Ds line up along boards and play a full ice 1 on1 when the forward receives pass from coach after his first shot...as forward drives for his first shot D must skate hard to blueline before starting backwards to play the 1 on 1


*progression: 2 on 1 (see diagram)

* progression: add second D to make it a 2 on 2


* progression: 3 on 2; addthird line off forwards, F from middle line is high man in the attack triangle that develops off the drive skate - after the pass or shot the line turns up ice and attacks 3 on 2 - a good practice is to have the line cycle the puck off the original dribe skate
