Desc : Five pylons are positioned to form the letter "W". This drill is for those coaches that have been restricted to half ice practices. Have all players line up in the corner beside the net. Skate forward to the first pylon at full speed, pivot around the pylon and skate backwards to the bottom point in the "W". Pivot again and skate forward to the next cone, pivot and go bacwards again, pivot, skate forward to the last cone, pivot and skate to the opposite corner backwards. This drill simulates the constant transition between forward and backward skating. Emphasize that the drill should be performed at full speed and stopping at the pivot points is not desired.
